Cat-cow Background

Description

The 'cat-cow' is a popular mobility exercise that is often used in yoga and other flexibility training. It aims to mobilize the spine and improve flexibility in the back. The movement between cat and cow can also help to transport fluid and nutrients to the intervertebral discs.
Exercise

Cat-cow

Type: Bilateral Equipment: Körpergewicht

Tutorial

  1. 1
    Stand on four feet
  2. 2
Assume the cow pose by assuming a hollow back and allowing your spine to sag downwards. Breathe in and look up towards the ceiling.
  3. 3
Move from the cow pose to the cat pose by moving from a hollow back to a rounded back. Push your back up and arch your back. Exhale and look towards the floor.
  4. 4
Do this exercise until you have reached the specified time.
Tip
Make sure that you integrate your head posture into the exercise. This means that when you get into the cow pose, your head goes down to your neck and you look up towards the ceiling. If you go into the cat position, your chin goes towards your chest and your gaze goes towards the floor. Perform the exercise slowly and in a controlled manner.
Make sure that you maintain calm and even breathing during the exercise.
